Choose the page that should answer the question.
A broad range question belongs naturally with a category. A precise item question belongs with a product. A comparison or care question may need an explanatory article. Do not make three pages compete to give the same answer.
Use the customer’s language and your actual assortment. The introduction should explain what can be chosen and which differences matter. It does not need an arbitrary word count or a repeated phrase in every sentence.
| Customer question | Useful destination | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Browse heavyweight tees | Tee category | Choose from the range |
| Buy the Chalk tee in M | Specific product | Confirm the item and variant |
| How to compare fabric weights | Advice article | Understand the choice before buying |
Replace a generic claim with useful selection help.
“Discover our high-quality collection” could describe almost any shop. A fictional DYMR introduction can be more useful: “Choose an everyday tee or a heavier layer. Compare fabric weight, fit and available colours below.” Use only differences that are true of the listed products.
Keep the product grid easy to reach, especially on a phone. If more explanation is useful, organize it where it supports the decision rather than pushing every product far down the page.
Check the description and the template separately.
WooCommerce provides category descriptions under Products → Categories. The theme or template determines whether and where that description appears. A saved field is not proof that a visitor can see it.
A search title identifies the page in search results; a meta description summarizes it. Their controls depend on the site’s SEO setup. Do not paste a category essay into every field or assume all filters should share one indexing rule. Technical URL decisions need their own site review.
Review the real category page.
Open it as a visitor on mobile and desktop. Check the heading, introduction, product selection, pagination and links to individual products. Ensure useful ranges can be reached through normal navigation and crawlable links.
After a change, use Search Console to review the page’s actual queries and performance. Indexing and ranking are separate from writing the text. Compare whether visitors reach a relevant product and continue, rather than treating added words as the result.
